I'm just a parent and not a politician.
Unfortunately, I stated something incorrect at the LWV Forum. I repeated what I heard from a source close to the SRO's that "the police were called to Edgewood Middle School already 10 times." Well, I apologize, when I pulled the police report it was many incidents (not quite 10) that included fighting, disorderly conduct and juvenile incidents. I had no intention of saying something that was untrue. I deeply apologize. The bottom line is that this is just one stat, the passion behind this discussion comes from the teachers and parents from Edgewood that have shared their powerful stories. There is a problem, but I'm thrilled to have our SRO's back. It is time to get serious about the safety in our schools!
